Boarding at Black Horse

To ensure the highest quality of care across our property BHH only offers full care boarding opportunities at this time. All horses boarding within the main barn are required to be in training.
Options include pasture/retirement, box stalls in the main barn, box stalls with attached runs in the main barn, and coming in 2025, track system pods and additional outbuilding options.
Arena + Trails
Black Horse Hollow sits on just shy of 80 acres in the beautiful wine and agriculture landscape of Forest Grove, Oregon. With just about half of the land cleared for pasture and half in timber, opportunities abound for the outdoor riding enthusiast! With existing trails and new ones being reclaimed daily there's hours of exploring to do, and if the weather isn't cooperating our well lit, 60 x 120 indoor will keep the boredom at bay!
All Day Turnout
Horses stalled overnight are all turned out for a minimum of 4 hours each day - weather permitting* and based on the horses' individual needs/requirements. BHH offers small, single sex group turnout on pasture, limited individual turnout on pasture or grass, and customized rehabilitative plans can be created. Owner/Trainer on Site
Knowing that someone with extensive experience dealing with equine emergencies of all kinds is on property with your animals when you aren't can make the difference between a restful, and restless night's sleep. Black Horse Hollow's owner/head trainer as well as barn manager both live on the property and have personal horses in the barn, so there are always eyes, ears, and hands ready and waiting if needed.
Hay + Feed
Black Horse Hollow carries a variety of high quality forages that may change with availability throughout the year, so please message for current offerings. Horses are fed based on an individualized calculation with a goal of no more than 4 hours between feedings (if horse is not on pasture) for optimal gut function. BHH will feed owner supplied grain and supplements twice daily, with customized feed plans available upon request.
Community Focused
Here at The Hollow our main goal is to provide a safe place for those who might have found it hard to fit in elsewhere, to be themselves and love their animals. We are not a show barn (but we WILL show!) and we are not a discipline specific barn (but we DO have discipline!) - we are a barn where learning to be better and kinder than you were the next day has far more value than a buckle.

Board and Training Pricing
Pasture/Shed
- $550
24/7 turnout in pasture with access to loafing shed or run in shelter. Staff feeds owner provided grain AM and PM, hay provided, blankets, fly masks, etc included (within reason)
Box Stall
- $750
Matted box stall with min 4" pine/fir shavings. Daily turnout, cleaning, buckets dumped/scrubbed/
filled daily, feed pans sanitized daily. Quality forage provided.
Stall w/30' Run
- $850
30' x 12' attached run for additional movement or for larger horses. Includes all services for box stall care.
Training Board
- $1000*
Prices for training start at $1000.00 depending on what level of board is requested/horses' needs - special pricing for weanlings/halter breaking, discounts for multiple horses, and discounted lesson pricing for those in training
